Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what FM Dossier (“we”, a DB.Football product) collects, why, and the choices you have. It covers the website at fmdossier.dev and the FM Dossier desktop application. The data controller is Solbizz Canarias S.L. (CIF B76607415), Calle Félix Casanova Ayala 44, 38678 Armeñime, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain — the company behind DB.Football.

What we collect

The FM Dossier app reads your Football Manager save locally, on your machine, in read-only mode. Your save data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it — we do not receive or store it. We do not sell your data or use it for marketing. The personal data we do process is:

  • Licensing. Your email address when you request or recover a license key, stored alongside the key. When your app checks your license, we also record technical metadata tied to that license — your app version, Windows version, and the date it was last validated — to manage and support the licence. We may also occasionally email licence holders about their licence or to ask for product feedback; every such email includes an unsubscribe link, and opt-outs are honoured.
  • Contact form. The name, email and message you submit, plus your IP address and browser user-agent (used to prevent spam and abuse).
  • Bug reports. The title and description, your app version and operating system, an optional sanitised diagnostic log, an optional contact email, and your IP address and user-agent.
  • In-app feedback & suggestions. The message you send, an optional category, an optional contact (e.g. an email or handle, only if you choose to provide one), your app version and the type of save it relates to. We do not store your IP address on feedback.
  • Optional usage analytics (telemetry). Only if you opt in, the app sends a random install identifier (not a device fingerprint and not linked to your identity), your app and Windows version, and counts of which features you use. This lets us see how many people use the app and which features matter. It contains no personal data and no IP address is stored. You can turn it off at any time.
  • Optional crash reports. Only if you opt in, when the app crashes it sends the random install identifier, your app version and OS, and the error type, message and technical stack trace, so we can fix bugs. No IP address is stored.

Why we’re allowed to process it (legal bases)

Under the GDPR we rely on: performance of a contract (issuing and validating your licence); your consent (advertising cookies, and the opt-in telemetry and crash reporting — which you can withdraw at any time); and our legitimate interests in running the service securely, preventing spam and abuse, and answering the messages you send us.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected: licence records for as long as your licence is active (and a reasonable period after); contact, bug and feedback messages until they’re resolved and no longer needed for support; and telemetry and crash data for a limited period to analyse trends. You can ask us to erase your data sooner (see “Your rights”).

Cookies & advertising

This website uses essential cookies for core functionality. For visitor statistics we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-first and uses no cookiesand collects no personal data. Advertising (below) is the only thing that would set non-essential cookies, and only with your consent.

We intend to display ads via Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third party’s use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. No advertising or analytics cookies are set before you consent, and you can change your choice at any time from the cookie banner.

Service providers & international transfers

We rely on a few providers to run the service: Cloudflare (website delivery, security, cookieless analytics, and the Turnstile anti-spam check on our forms); Mailchimp Transactional (Mandrill) for transactional email such as licence keys and replies; and Google AdSense for advertising (see above). Our application servers are located in the EU. Some providers — notably Google — may process data outside the EU, including in the United States; where that happens it is covered by the providers’ standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards. Our support page also embeds a Ko-fiwidget, which is loaded from Ko-fi’s servers and may set its own cookies when that section is shown.

Your rights

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to our processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time (including for advertising and the optional telemetry/crash reporting). To exercise any of these, or to have your email, licence, contact, bug-report and feedback records erased, contact [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority — in Spain, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD).

Children

FM Dossier is intended for a general audience of Football Manager players and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
