How FM Dossier works

FM Dossier is a Windows desktop app that reads your liveFootball Manager 2026 save while the game is running and turns it into scouting and recruitment intelligence: player dossiers, role-fit scoring, side-by-side compare, national-team eligibility, an “Export for AI” snapshot, and Moneyball tooling.

How it reads the save

It reads FM 2026 live, from the running game’s memory, while you play. There are no save files to export, no folders to pick, and no manual setup. You start FM 2026, load a save, then click Read this savein FM Dossier. That’s it.

External and read-only — it never changes your game.

FM Dossier reads the game from the outside; it does not inject anything into Football Manager, install a plugin or mod, or import any files. It never writes to, modifies, or saves your game — your careers, players and saves stay exactly as FM left them. Think of it as reading over your shoulder, never picking up the pen.

Nothing about your save leaves your PC.

All analysis runs locally on your machine. The only network calls the app makes are license validation, the update check, and feedback you explicitly choose to send — none of which include any player or save data.

Because one program reading another’s memory is exactly the kind of thing security software watches for, an antivirus tool may occasionally pop up a precautionary notice. FM Dossier is code-signed, so your computer can confirm it genuinely comes from us and hasn’t been tampered with — if your antivirus asks, it’s safe to allow it to run.

The startup flow you’ll see

  1. Activation.A free license key (from this site) is required once. Paste it in; it’s verified and cached so you stay activated offline.
  2. Connect.The app waits for FM 2026 to be running with a save loaded (“Waiting for Football Manager 2026…”). When detected it shows “FM 2026 detected · save loaded”. Click Read this save.
  3. Reading. It reads the live save while a progress screen shows.
  4. Pick a mode. Choose how you want to work with the data.
  5. The app. Browse players, open dossiers, compare, filter, export, Moneyball, and more.

Requirements

Windows 10 / 11. FM 2026 must be running with a save loaded for live reads.

Privacy in one line

Read-only, local-only analysis. The app sends only your license key (to validate), a version/OS string (so we know which builds are in use), and any feedback you choose to send. No player data, no save data, no device fingerprint.

How it’s built

FM Dossier is a Tauri desktop app (Rust backend, React/TypeScript UI). The live read is a native Rust memory reader — there is no plugin, mod loader, or file import in the shipping product.
