01Import

One file. Both phases.

FM26 replaced role-and-duty with a role for each phase. A tactic file carries both — FM Dossier reads them as they are, including shapes that change without the ball.

Good to knowFM Dossier reads positions and roles. It doesn’t read team or player instructions, and it doesn’t read the tactic currently set in your game — import the file instead. On its pitch the app shows its own short role labels, such as CHF or B2B, next to the full FM26 role names; they are not Football Manager role codes.

What Tactics reads — and what it doesn’t.

Roles and positions in. No match engine, no guesses about instructions.

Positions and roles only: Team and player instructions are not read.
Short labels are the app’s own: Pitch tokens such as CHF or B2B are FM Dossier’s abbreviations, not Football Manager role codes. Full FM26 role names are shown with them.
Not a match simulation: Squad fit and the Shape Advisor are based on role fit. Nothing is played out.
Import the file: FM Dossier doesn’t read the tactic currently set in your game.
FM26 tactics: Roles are FM26’s, in and out of possession. There are no duties.
Recruit is for club careers: Squad fit and the Shape Advisor also work for your national team.
Role fit is FM Dossier’s: Calculated from FM26 attributes and familiarity — not FM’s star rating.
